Clementi residents come together to celebrate Hari Raya

The Clementi community Hari Raya Dinner was held on July 6. Clementi residents, friends and families from nearby and afar spent the evening celebrating the festivities together. Dressed in vibrant-coloured kebayas and sarongs, they complemented bright splashes of red, pink and orange that decorated the venue.

Guest of Honour Dr Tan Wu Meng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Ministry of Trade and Industry, mingled with residents and joined in the sumptuous feast. Celebrating festivals as a community across different races and religions in Singapore’s multicultural society builds social cohesion. It gave members of the community a chance to bond and forge new friendships along the way.

Thanks to the volunteers and community partners – namely Friends of Clementi, the Clementi Malay Activity Executive Committee, People’s Association and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth – the dinner not only brought community members together to share a meal but also highlighted the rich multicultural diversity in the neighbourhood.
