The end of the year is upon us, and in spite of the challenges we have faced in the past few months, through our concerted efforts, we have progressively been able to resume daily activities.
I am delighted to update you that our neighbourhoods have been undergoing significant facelifts that will bring more amenities and convenience to residents. From fitness corners to playgrounds and other outdoor spaces for social activities for all generations, these new amenities not only encourage a healthy lifestyle among residents but also provide opportunities for bonding. In this newsletter, you will find the latest updates pertaining to these upgrading works.
Our quality of life is always underscored by several important aspects, one of them being safety. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that we keep our common spaces, such as corridors and dry and wet riser areas, clear of any clutter that might impede rescue and evacuation efforts by the Singapore Civil Defence Force. By relentlessly maintaining safe distancing measures and taking other precautions in light of the Covid-19 global pandemic, we are now adapting to the new normal. There are new guidelines regarding the organisation of weddings and wakes in the common areas of Housing and Development Board estates. Please refer to the latest guidelines in this newsletter to learn more.
While our community cases have been kept very low, it is still important to be vigilant at all times. We will continue to work with residents to ensure that timely information is being disseminated, and that we stay united as a community in our efforts to keep the virus at bay.
We will enter Phase 3 on December 28, and with the festive season around the corner, it is all the more vital to stay safe. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all residents a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. It’s that time of year when many of us spend time with family and friends. This year might feel different due to low-key celebrations, but the spirit of togetherness and giving still prevails. As a community, I hope we can look out for the more vulnerable in society, share the celebratory joy with them, and create an inclusive and caring community.
