Delighting in togetherness at Yuhua’s 2023 Fruit Fiesta

“The fruit we had were just a little sweeter when shared with friends and neighbours!” said Ms Grace Fu, MP for Yuhua SMC, in a Facebook post as she reminisced about her time at Yuhua’s Fruit Fiesta on 17 June 2023. Packed with a bountiful yield of vibrant tropical fruit and invigorating company, Yuhua Community Club (YCC) was all but still that Sunday afternoon, with many residents rallying behind good health and greater prosperity.

Jurong-Clementi Town Council (JRTC) gifted the community with refreshingly sweet mangoes, providing celebrants a delicious respite from the heat. These mangoes, freshly plucked from the trees just outside, also mark the Town Council’s enduring dedication to preserving the precinct’s urban green spaces.

Fittingly so, the event also had an insightful dialogue by the National University Health System on nutrition and proper food consumption, with discussions on food groups, optimised diets and nutritional needs. They were followed by representatives from NParks, who taught the audience how they can cultivate their own mini-garden at home.

This occasion was one of many community gatherings organised by JRTC and People’s Association to bring together residents of all backgrounds in the spirit of unity.
