Dengue prevention works carried out in Jurong-Clementi

With a spike in the number of dengue cases this year, the Jurong-Clementi Town Council has stepped up its efforts to take preventive action to eliminate breeding sites.

While checkers scan the area thoroughly for Aedes mosquitoes, town council workers have also been actively engaging in oiling and fogging work, especially in areas such as drains and thick vegetation.

Even as the town council continues its effort to contain the growth of dengue-causing mosquitoes, members of the public should also stay alert and follow instructions by the town council and the National Environment Agency to prevent mosquito breeding grounds in their vicinity. This includes not allowing any stagnant water to collect in and around their homes, or to notify the town council immediately if they come across any water puddles in common areas.
