New and improved Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Park in 2020

Residents can look forward to a complete makeover of Bukit Batok Neighbourhood Park by the third quarter of 2020. The $1.8 million project, scheduled to commence in the third quarter of this year, aims to rejuvenate existing facilities, implement new amenities and redesign landscaping of the park.

Proposed upgrading works include 3-Generation (3G) playgrounds – meaning the playground will not only be a play area for children but will have exercise equipment for adults and seniors as well. The objective is to make it an ideal estate for generations to stay active together. Existing jogging tracks will be widened and raised platforms constructed for the planting of vegetable by residents. With the growing trend in urban farming, a community garden will mean more space will be made available to encourage farming interest groups and cultivate a sense of community.

The main highlight is the elevated boardwalk with a view from the deck that will bring residents closer to nature, enhancing their experience during morning jogs or evening walks. The upgraded park will help to boost community spirit and cultivate bonding within the precincts and across divisions in terms of social and ecological aspects.
