Why the increase in S&CC fees from July 1 is necessary

View of Casa Clementi, Singapore’s largest public housing project. Straits Construction, a building contractor, won the HDB’s Distinguished Construction Award for completing the project, while Surbana International Consultants won an award for the design of the estate.

The first revision of the Service & Conservancy Charges (S&CC) took effect on 1 July 2023, with the second phase taking effect on 1 July 2024. The revision is necessary, to ensure the financial sustainability of the Town Council amidst rising costs. We are grateful that the Ministry of National Development is also providing time-based special grants, such that the rising cost burden will not be borne solely by residents. Residents will continue to enjoy S&CC rebates by the Government too. We thank residents for their support and understanding. If you are facing financial challenges with the revised S&CC, please do reach out to your MPs at the weekly Meet-the-People Session.
