Sky Vista @ Bukit Batok
Sky Vista @ Bukit Batok was officially completed, with residents receiving their keys in November 2022. Being one of the tallest BTO projects in Bukit Batok, it is approximately six minutes away from Bukit Batok MRT Station. The project comprises a 28-storey block and another staggered block ranging from 23 to 28 storeys. The two residential blocks house 257 units of two-room flexi and three-room flats.
On 19 November 2022, Mr Murali Pillai, MP for Bukit Batok SMC, inspected one of the blocks — Block 114A — with representatives from the Housing and Development Board (HDB) as well as Jurong-Clementi Town Council to ensure that the safety aspects and key facilities were in place before residents moved in.
Mr Murali first made a stop at the sheltered linkway covering the two blocks. Moving in towards the common area, staff from the HDB explained that the letterboxes were built at a lower height to make it easier for residents who use wheelchairs to access them.
During his visit to a two-room flexi unit, Mr Murali was given a demonstration on the retractable laundry rack. As a safety feature, the unit’s design was laid with anti-slip vinyl strip flooring. Elderly residents who purchased the two-room flexi (short-lease) units can also opt for elderly fittings such as grab bars. In addition, sliding doors have been installed in the bedrooms to make it easier for elderly residents to access from the living room area.
Mr Murali also inspected the smoke detectors installed in all the units to help prevent fire accidents. At a three-room unit he visited, he commended the HDB team for building a canopy above the outdoor laundry area, which will help in preventing high-rise littering.
To ensure residents’ safety, lifts have been equipped with CCTV cameras. Before concluding his inspection, Mr Murali, however, suggested that convex mirrors be installed at the multi-storey carpark to prevent blind spots, a suggestion that was also concurred by the HDB representative present. Mr Murali ended his site inspection at the Building Services Centre, which attends to residents’ queries and feedback on their units. The centre also assists residents who may have questions about the facilities at the blocks and help direct those who may need help getting around the neighbourhood.
Clementi Peaks
Clementi Peaks – so named because of the project’s prominent height – is bounded by Clementi Avenue 1 and Avenue 2. The BTO project comprises four residential blocks ranging from 15 to 40 storeys and 1,104 units that are made up of two-, three-, four-, five-room and three-generation flats.
To encourage eco-living within the community, Clementi Peaks features highlights such as separate chutes for recyclable waste; eco-pedestals in bathrooms to encourage water conservation; and bicycle stands to encourage cycling as an environmentally-friendly mode of transport.
Within Clementi Peaks, a roof garden provides an outdoor space for residents to enjoy, interact and relax in a greener setting. The nearby Town Centre also offers ample amenities, such as Clementi Mall, a market and food centre, a polyclinic, as well as many retail shops and eating places. The conveniently located Clementi Sports Hall, Clementi Swimming Complex and Clementi Stadium provide several options for leisure and recreation for residents to pursue an active lifestyle. An array of neighbourhood parks and Clementi Woods Park ensure that there are plenty of opportunities for fitness-conscious and outdoor enthusiasts to explore within the neighbourhood.
