Rising early for a good cause

Rising early for a good cause

Pet lovers staying near Block 340 Jurong East Avenue 1 got to indulge in their love for animals and took their pets for a workout, while serving an altruistic mission at the “Rise For Rice Run” held on 29 December 2019.

The event featured a mini vertical marathon to deliver rice in two categories: “Rest & Relax” for delivery between two and six storeys, and “No Pain No Gain” for delivery between seven and 12 storeys.

After sweating it out in the marathon, attendees proudly took their pets for a stroll at the pet carnival, while the kids had a thrilling time petting the rabbit that “popped” out of the magician’s hat during a magic show. The event also offered participants a rare, close-up view and photo-taking opportunity with American bull frogs during a special workshop that was curated for the event. Mr Ang Wei Neng, Member of Parliament for Jurong GRC (Jurong Central) and Chairman of the Jurong-Clementi Town Council, joined in the fun, presented gift packs to participants who finished the marathon, and chatted with residents about their pets.
