Racing for a strong body and mind

Racing for a strong body and mind

Instead of spending hours staring at digital screens every day, one of the best ways to keep your child physically and mentally fit is through a cardio workout. To celebrate Children’s Day and promote healthy living, Jurong Spring Community Sports Club and PCF Jurong Spring organised a “Children’s Day Amazing Race” on September 28 at the hard court at Block 528, Jurong West St 52.

A number of families – in groups of three – took part in the race and did a mass Zumba warm-up exercise before starting on the race. At the event, the children also learnt how to conduct CPR and caught a brief glimpse of Singapore’s history such as the race riots that took place in 1969 through the various exhibitions and booths set up by community partners including Jurong Spring FLC, Lakeside Family Services and the Singapore Police Force.

Joining the residents was Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for Social and Family Development and Second Minister for National Development, and Advisor to Jurong GRC Grassroots Organisation, said he was glad to see many young parents spending quality time with their young children at the Amazing Race.
